I was trying to think of what additional feature to add... but not much come up for now....

But what will be the theme of such island? I would say (base on the GW lore) that making the island be the Xunlai Merchant Guild Headquarter (a richly diverse free port city)) ... something like that

Um, why would they GIVE people something that everyone else PAID for? If you really want the new armour and skills, buy the new chapter.

/signed, if only for the auction house.

No, it's wouldn't have lots of pockets, because the Xunlai Agents employ a multi-dimensional singularity for their storage space, similar to how the "Bag of Holding" from D&D can hold multiple items such as swords, axes, and farm animals without getting any bigger or heavier. As such, you would only need ONE pocket, which would be a portal to one of the many small pocket dimensions that represent our personal storage. But nevermind, that's blatantly off-topic . . .

Again, I'm going to have to say that an island is not a good idea. I love the concept to death, but an island chain would be constraining.

Additional chapters would have to justify islands springing out of the sea in six month cycles. That would be silly.

Open up a new continent, nothing huge, just have no set boundaries. The city expands outward into the explorable terrain outside the city gates.

But before I start ranting again I already posted this in depth on the fourth page.

But really, this is a good idea, but I don't expect to see it ever implemented.

I think it should be located in the city of the gods, the one that Orr had before it got blown up. This would tie in nicely with the favor/fow/uw system, giving a good excuse to have entrances to both there.

Besides, think of the awesome look of the city. A five (or six!) pointed star, with massive statues of the gods in the middle. Awesome.

How would we be able to go to the city of the gods if it was, well, blown up?
I hear a lot of people wanting to explore Orr, or talking about future chapters in Orr, and I have to say, just stop, it blew up. Everyone is Undead, deal with it.

But I like undead. We can pretend it just sank and our heros just turned into water breathing fishies...

Or, of course, it could only be the city of the gods when favor is aligned with your region. Otherwise it would be some dinky ruins & such. There's little islands scattered all around the peninsula of Orr, those are plausible spots to put it on.

im all for a centralized place to find fow/uw groups (gonig back to ToA everytime is a pita id rather click the ship and go to a place that has the gods right there.)

im also for the idea of a centralized trading area.

This sounds like a fantastic idea, and I think it would solve many of the gripes that people have about the game: "Auction House", Group Formation, etc. I liked the idea of a core elite mission, but that's a big chunk of extra work.

this is a great idea (wake up anet!!!) I think xunlai home island is good idea. it would make for an interesting place to visit. As long as it wasnt a ghetto like factions mainland. The gods would of course be there or at least their representations. This could also be a link to the also wanted homes of the 3 neglected gods dwayna melandru and lyssa. How about making a xunali armor series as well that we could sink money into? Not a core set from any release but its own all together. Also some more lore on the xunlai would be cool.

In adding on... some of things I think would be intersting to see in such place would be:

* Weapon/Rune/Misc Market Place:
(Assuming that we won't get a central auction house like that of WoW anytime soon) Will have 3 or more out post area, each is "mean" to be more specialize in what people sell.

* Zoo:
A place to see all the exotic animal/beast from differnt chapters. You would not be able to charm them, but can atleast see them. (And explain where the animal tammer take all their animals to... beside the resturant that is)

* Bar and Tavern:
A out post mean for socializing (like a big chat room). Can order a drink, watch the dancers, listen to NPC comedian or storyteller, join in Bar-related mini games, listen and request music, and more.

* Dummy Battle:
A area where you and your group (4 to 8 players, with the course change depend on how many player there are) can fight those wooden dummies for pratice and training. Of couse, this time, those dummies would fight back, move (on rails), and even cast spells. (could also ahve some challenge quest with it)

*War Museum:
A place of exhibit. On display are replicat of mobs, collection of differnt weapons and armors, and several paintings. (would be one of my fav place to go)

*Honor Hall:
A place to recognize special player who has contribute or done special achievements. A hall with statues, and walls of pagues with name of the players (Lyra's name could go in there). Can be permenet, or temperary.

*Xunlai Headquaters:
If use the idea of a Island that is also the home of the Xunlai Merchant guild, than would be nice to be able to visit their Headquater there. Could see thier large storage space, and even get quize on the name of Xunlai agent and where they are!

*Centralize Zone for Certain Minigames:
That is of couse if those mini games are design for use of all chapters, and not be exclusive to any. But a place, or atleast a gateway, to those mini game outpost, would be good.

Now... the next 3 are more "advance". Not really expect them to be added (for they are more like a new feature), but I think are interesting idea to play with for such location.

*Cooking:
More like a Mini-game than a activity that is needed to play the game. What it is that you take differnt mob drops, choose how to prepare them (cooking method, time, and what spice), and will come up with a successful dish (or a burn out one). Can also mix and match the ingredians for more colorful dish. The name of the dish will be combination of lots sufix and prefix. There would be a whole Code that determin what work and not work. Of couse, those should be kept just for fun purpose, so mean when consume, will only have a very small effect (like +1hp regen for 5 min, or +5AL for 10 min, etc), while in PvE. The effect will also depended on the combination of the foods.

This is fitting, because it would promote more trade of the mob drop from all the differnt locations.

*Bounty Quest:
This would be deal with "encouraging" players to party find a party in such location. A bound quest would be where you pay a fee (say 500g), which then the Bounty NPC will assign you with a quest (something like: kill X number of Y mob in T time, to earn Z gold or # exp) You could only take one of such quest at time. You can abandon it, but mean you won't get the refund, and must pay another fee to get a new random quest.

*Story Quest:
Could make such island bigger, that would offer several quests and mission to players. I am thinking of another Evil Merchant guild that want to topple the Xunlai's (they are evil because they want to charge people 1k per ever storage usage), and hire some Nagas and Cosair to do their bad stuff on the isle. You, in hoping to advance in rank in the Xunlai's guild (and earning Xunlai Coins), will undertake the task of uncover who is doing the evil deeds and stop them once and for all! (something like that)

Well, thats all I have for now (after about 2 days of thinking).... enjoy dreaming.

Oh yeah, great ideas in this thread!

/signed x infinity

It could look something like Kodash Bazaar, but with the five god statues (for FoW and UW entrance), an auction house (pending), other Elite mission access (possibly seperated off like in HzH and Cavalon, to preserve the "Elite" status; and whatever requirements for the Elonian Elite Mish), an area filled with "games of chance" like during the Dragon Festival, a training area (like isle of the nameless) that teaches fundamental PvE aspects like pulling and aggro, special quests that take you adventuring through all the campaigns, etc. etc. etc.

Sorry for the giant sentance of endlessness. I got carried away.

OMG, actionjack: I was posting this while you were posting that... wow. Yeah, what he said

I am a pure PVP player.

I will however sign this because it is a good idea and is actually going to be needed - People need to have somewhere to go to trade so its necessary to not punish people who have say only one chapter.

People tend to overcomplicate ideas as they go along, but the base idea is fantastic! Well, except for that part about having to be a GM Cartographer or Protector to get in. That's a bit, shall we say... insane. ^_^

The having a title requirement for a comunal meeting place kind of defeats the purpose. But then again, I might have gotten confused somewhere there in the midst of all those pages and the title thing was only meant to apply for the FoW/UW entrance point?
Apart from that...
